One fun annual celebration that Chicago boasts is the Chinese New Year parade. This parade is held every February to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It also invites and encourages other Asian countries to participate to celebrate their new year including Malaysian, Philippine, and Tibet. If a music party is more your flavor then the Chicago Blues Festival might be something for you. It is the largest free blues festival in the world. It is held in June and is held over three days with five stages bringing you all the blues you could ever want. The Blues event is held in Grant Park and usually brings at least 500,000 blues fans.If Halloween is your holiday then look no further than “Chicagoween” which lasts for a few days close to Halloween in Chicago. There are so many things for families to do during “Chicagoween” including entertainment and parties in the Franken Plaza. Some of the park districts also get involved with different pumpkin patches and even a haunted house. If you like Halloween then definitely check out Chicagoween for your seasonal event of the year.The Holidays in Chi-town boast some awesome celebrations and parties as well. The McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving morning is a well known throughout the city and brings in lots of visitors as well. If Christmas is more your thing then maybe the a Christmas tree lighting will be the thing to check out. There is the Official Chicago Christmas Tree Lighting in Millennium Plaza, this also includes the Santa House which is located right next to the tree.
